The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command marked the International Civil Defence Day with a road walk and special prayers to sensitize the public about the Corps’ role in maintaining law and order.

State Commandant, Comdt Shafi’u Abdulmumini, led the road walk, which covered several kilometers, accompanied by senior management staff, officers, and men. The command’s band crew entertained participants along the route.

Addressing officers and men after the walk, Comdt Shafi’u assured Kano residents that the Corps would continue to work efficiently to ensure safety and security, particularly during the Ramadan fast. “We’ll also intensify efforts to protect critical national assets and infrastructure,” he added.

The celebration included special prayers at the Jum’at mosque in Kwankwasiyya City, led by Chief Imam Barrister Sheikh Habibu Dan Almajiri, seeking Allah’s guidance and protection for the Corps’ personnel. A special church service is also scheduled for Sunday.
