A non governmental organization Society for Family Health has collaborate with Kano state government in disseminating the malaria in the state.
The Project Director Mr John Ocholi stated this during the flag off of 2025 malaria prevention strategies SMC and mass LLIN distribution in Madobi Local government in the state.
He said society for Family Health for many years collaborate with the Kano state government to fight against Malaria in all the 44 local government areas of the state.
Mr. John Ocholi pointed out that, society for Family Health every year during SMC campaign provide insecticide Mosquito nets for the distribution to the Households which reduced the maleria outbreak in the state.
“This year the distribution of the Nets is not going to be every Household,so we we have 51 wards. Women and children in those places will go to the facilities and get it. While other wards every Household will go there and give them a token and that token they will use to collect their Net from 6 to 10 August.” John Ocholi said

The project Director hopping that, Kano state will be among the states that will lead.
” We need to manage the population of mosquitoes in Kano state, the local government Chairmen will help us. So through this we can reduce the spreading of mosquitoes in the state.” John Ocholi emphasized .
Speaking earlier, Kano state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf represented by his Deputy Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo Commended the efforts of Society for Family Health in the effort to eliminate malaria in the state.
The governor also called on the state populace to use the Net accordingly, and also ensure all children under five years receive Sulfadoxine- phyrimethamine and Amodiaquine which is Free.
Meanwhile, in preparation for the Campaign Kano state government in collaboration with Society for Family Health organized media orientation on Integrated Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) and Seasonal Malaria Chemo prevention SMC in the state.
During the event, Sesugh Deborah Oyiman from society for Family Health said malaria kills 9 parson every hour in Nigeria.
According to Sesugh Deborah Oyiman despite the increase in malaria incidence, there was a notable decrease in malaria as determined by Microscopy dropping from 27% to 22% in 2021.
During the meeting also, Abimbola Ayola made the presentation on how to use the integrated insecticide Treated Nets. you the number of the Net you are entitled to under device, we don’t want anybody to short case. We are using technology to follow what we are doing,” Project Director added.
