The Head of Service, Kano State, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, has held a meeting with the management of the Kano State Fire Service to discuss strategies for strengthening the Service and improving its overall service delivery.
The meeting, which focused on issues affecting the effective discharge of the Fire Service’s responsibilities, provided an opportunity for both sides to deliberate on various matters relating to staff welfare, operational efficiency and institutional development.
Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota emphasised the importance of ensuring that personnel are adequately motivated and provided with the necessary support to enable them discharge their duties effectively.
She noted that the welfare of civil servants remains an important component of the administration’s efforts to build an efficient, responsive and result-oriented public service.
The Head of Service further stressed the need for continuous improvement in service delivery, professionalism, discipline and effective coordination among relevant government institutions, particularly services such as the Fire Service whose responsibilities are critical to the safety and protection of lives and property.
The meeting also discussed a number of challenges confronting the Kano State Fire Service, with a view to identifying practical measures for addressing them and strengthening its capacity to respond effectively to emergencies.
She assured the management of the Fire Service of the Office of the Head of Service’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving working conditions and enhancing the quality of services provided to the people of Kano State.
In attendance at the meeting were the Permanent Secretaries of Establishment Alhaji Abba Danguguwa and and that of Human Resources and service improvements directorate, alhaji Sabiu Shuaibu, Directors from the Office of the Head of Service, as well as members of the management of the Kano State Fire Service.
The meeting underscored the commitment of the Office of the Head of Service to sustained engagement with government agencies towards addressing institutional challenges, improving staff welfare and achieving better service delivery across the Kano State Civil Service.
