Baba Ahmad University, kano a one of the Private university in Nigeria to hold its first convocation on Saturday 1st November 2025 with 177 graduating students.
The Vice chancellor of the university Professor Ahmad Idris Tanko announced this at a press briefing in preparation of the university convocation ceremony.
He said the graduating students came from the Two Foculties that is Science and Computing and social and management sciences.
“We are graduating 177 students having received 35 More students who transferred from other universities locally and internationally. This means that 11 students from the set are yet to graduate.” The VC said

According to Professor Ahmad Idris Tanko Baba Ahmad University is a private university initially licensed to provisionally operate by the National university commission NUC in may 2022, and academic activities began in September the Same year after securing positive assessment of resource verification visit.
The Vice chancellor further said the graduating students are from 11 Programmes which 82 graduating students in the 3 programmes of the faculty of science and Computing. 95 graduating students are from the 8 programmes under Faculty of social and management sciences.

“Out of these, 22 are first Class (Hons.) graduates, 57 graduated with upper second class (Hons), 65 with lower second class (Hon.,), 32 with third class (Hons) and one graduated with a pass.” VC added.
Professor Ahmad Idris Tanko pointed out that the Two best students are females, 19 out of 22: upper second class graduates are females and 50 percent out of these graduates with lower second class Honours are aso a females.
The Vice chancellor also said, during the convocation the university is conferring its first highest Honourary Degree to a Qur’anic Scholar to Ustaz Ahmad Sulaiman Ibrahim.
Baba Ahmad University is a private university founded as a legacy project by distinguished senator Datti Baba Ahmad.
