Kano state government has assured its commitment in working hand in hand with stakeholders to End Polio in the state.
The Director General state primary healthcare management Board Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim stated this during a Town Hall meeting with 484 Ward Development Committees WDC’s Across the 44 local government areas in the state in commemoration of 2025 world Polio Day in Kano.

The Director General Represented by the Director public Health and Disease control of the board Dr. Ahmad Habib expressed the commitment of Kano state government in giving all the necessary support for Polio immunization and other day to day immunization in all the 44 local government in the state.
Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim pointed out that, Kano state government and all of its partners are committed to end Polio before 31st December 2025.
The Director General highlights some of the achievements in the health sector that includes supporting the routine immunization, diseases surveillance as well as upgrading some of primary healthcare centers to General Hospitals.

In his goodwill massage, the Head of world Health Organisation WHO in Kano Dr Abubakar Mayana said the event came at the rights time for the eradicating Polio before the end of this year.
Dr Mayana assured all the support to Kano state government in the fighting against the Polio across the state.
Also in his goodwill massage the UNICEF chief field office Kano Dr Rahma Rihood Muhammad Farah calls on government, partners to prioritize vaccination of all children against Polio and strengthening immunization system to ensure all children receive essential lifesaving vaccines.
“Polio eradication is possible and truly within our reach, but success depends on our collective resolve to sustain momentum political commitment, high quality vaccination campaigns and unwavering commitment.” Mr. Rahma Rihood said.
