Call for Increased Support to Hisbah Board

Islamic scholars and key stakeholders have called on the state government to strengthen its support for the Hisbah Board to enhance its operational effectiveness.

The appeal was made during a Sallah courtesy visit led by the Deputy Commander-General of Hisbah, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen Abubakar, who represented the Commander-General, Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa.

Speaking during the visit, Daurawa said the initiative was aimed at deepening collaboration between the Board and Islamic scholars, acknowledging their vital contributions to societal development.

He also commended the scholars for their impactful Ramadan sermons, which reinforced the values of promoting good and discouraging wrongdoing. He urged them to sustain their support for the Board through cooperation and prayers.

In his remarks, the Acting Commander-General in charge of Training and Discipline, Dr. Jamilu Ajiya, emphasized the central role of scholars in Hisbah operations, describing them as instrumental to the implementation of Islamic principles and the continuity of the Board’s activities.

The scholars, in their responses, expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Board. They advised Hisbah personnel to remain dedicated, patient, and sincere in the discharge of their duties.

They further appealed to the state government to enhance support for the Board, particularly in the areas of equipment provision and improved welfare for personnel. According to them, the presence of the Hisbah Board has significantly contributed to the peace and stability enjoyed in Kano State.

Among the scholars visited were Umar Sani Fagge, Abdulwahab Abdallah, Abubakar Umar Kandahar, and Nasiru Muhammad Adam.

The visit concluded with the presentation of copies of the Holy Qur’an and letters of appreciation to the scholars, with senior officials of the Hisbah Board in attendance.
