The Executive Director of Climate Lab Initiatives and the team behind the innovative Bottle Toilet Project paid a courtesy visit state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, at his office.
The visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships between government institutions and climate-focused social enterprises aimed at enhancing sanitation, environmental sustainability, and public health across Kano State.
In his remarks, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf commended the organization’s efforts and emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and digital innovation:
“Acquiring digital skills is now a critical aspect of life, especially as the world continues to transition into a digital era. I only wish I were among the youths benefiting from this initiative. Nonetheless, we are truly grateful and encourage you to continue the excellent work. Supporting over 3,000 youths and empowering more than 6,000 individuals is indeed commendable This type of initiative goes a long way in supporting our communities, as government alone cannot do everything.
Projects like this help take youths off the streets and meaningfully engage them. We sincerely appreciate your efforts.”
In his remarks, the Executive Director of Climate Lab Initiatives provided an overview of the organization’s mission and highlighted the impact of the Bottle Toilet—an affordable, eco-friendly sanitation solution designed to serve underserved communities and address the challenge of open defecation.
In a statement signed by public Relations officer state ministry for health Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa said the meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to explore strategic partnerships, foster community engagement, and implement pilot programs that align with the Ministry’s broader health and sanitation objectives.
In another Development, the Commissioner Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf received the courtesy visit by the National Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Ageing under the leadership of Hajiya Rabi Yusuf.
