Kano Chamber of commerce, industry,mines and Agriculture KACCIMA has organized its annual General meeting and elected of its new executives.
Speaking during the event that took place at the Kano state trade fair complex, the outgoing President Alhaji Garba Imam thanks all the members of the chamber for opportunity and support given to them to run the affairs for two years.
He said Leadership is defined not just by the titles we hold, but by the decisions we make, the values we uphold, and the impact we create. It is essential to remember that leadership is an action, not merely a position. We must lead with purpose, act with integrity, and inspire through our example.
“These principles have guided the outgoing Council in managing the affairs of KACCIMA during our two-year tenure, which is now concluding with the upcoming Council elections. When this Council was elected by consensus, some members perceived it as an imposition and even took legal action against it. Alhamdu Lillah, all these challenges are now history. May the soul of Alhaji Aminu Dantata rest in perfect peace. May Allah SWT reward him and those who contributed to the survival of KACCIMA to this historic moment, ameen.” Alhaji Garba Imam added.
The outgoing President Alhaji Garba Imam pointed out that, during the last two years, they have implemented significant reforms within the Secretariat, including the automation of financial and membership records.
“We have improved staff welfare and introduced new revenue generation avenues. We have also established strong corporate governance measures to ensure transparency, accountability, and disclosure,” He added.
Our efforts have created a robust platform for a modern KACCIMA, and I hope that future Councils will embrace a culture of continuity to maintain and enhance these initiatives.
Alhaji Garba Imam also wishes to the new Council a successful tenure that will continue to move the chamber to greater high.
In his speech, the newly chairman Ambassador Usman Hassan Darma expressed his happiness with the members of the chamber for elected him to serve for two years.
“We as a new executives of Kano chamber of commerce have a competent hands in different sector that will move to chamber forward.” Usman Darma said
Speaking earlier, the chairman electoral committee Alhaji Ado Muhammad said all the seats were unopposed.
Alhaji Ado Muhammad thanks all members for their mutual understand that make the meeting successfully.
