Government Girls College Dala of Kano state, has won the 2025 Talent Hunt Inter Female secondary schools Handball Competition by beating GGSS Tudun Murtala 7 – 6 at the finals on Thursday held at Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium.
The Government Girls College Kano has clinched a bronze medals after beating Mariam Aloma by 9 – 7 at the third place match.
The Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso represented by the Ag. Chairman Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Fagge, decorated the champions with Gold Medals.
Among the dignitaries have attended the closing ceremony Malam Yusuf Datti the Registrar Khairun University and Tournament Director Dala hart Court tennis who decorated the 2nd place runner-up with a silver medals.
Malam Yusuf Datti, praised the organizers of Talent Hunt Female Handball for their initiative of giving more emphasis to develop sports from the grassroots.
“To give more emphasis from grassroots, because all we are searchings players for the purpose of competition, we have to go back to olden days where all players are fished out from secondary schools. But now a days we only need readymade players”, he said.
He also promised to offered scholarship to Most valuable player at the competition Fatima Abdullahi from GGC Dala, with five credits in NECO/ WAEC and JAMB examinations.
