The Kano State Government has commenced the distribution of its end-of-Ramadan support programme, now in its second day, aimed at alleviating hardship among residents during the holy month of Ramadan.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this known during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of relief materials to selected social groups across the state.
Represented by his Political Adviser, Alhaji Mustafa Hamza Buhari (popularly known as Bakwana), the governor stated that the initiative is designed to cushion the economic difficulties faced by citizens, particularly during Ramadan.

According to him, the programme aligns with the administration’s policy of enhancing the socio-economic well-being of the people.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar, disclosed that the support package includes one 50kg bag of rice, one carton of macaroni, and ₦20,000 cash for each of the over 2,000 beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries were drawn from groups including Kannywood, APC Media Forum, APC Marshals, Abba Door-to-Door, and the Kano First Movement.
He added that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the less privileged, especially during the sacred period of Ramadan.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya; the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa; and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Hajiya A’ishatu Tamburawa, commended the Kano State Government and the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning for organizing the intervention programme.
