The Kano State Government, through the Ministry of Health, extends its sincere appreciation to the people of the state for heeding the call and adhering to the health guidelines issued ahead of the recent Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, aimed at ensuring public safety and the health of sacrificial animals.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, expressed gratitude to residents for their cooperation and awareness, which played a vital role in the peaceful and safe conduct of the Sallah festivities without any reported outbreak of disease linked to sacrificial animals or food consumption.
In a statement signed by Public relations officer state ministry for health Nabulisi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa the Commissioner noted that compliance with the outlined measures – including checking the health status of animals, proper cleaning of meat, and thorough cooking – significantly contributed to preventing the spread of diseases that animals can transmit during such occasions.

Dr. Yusuf emphasized that this level of cooperation demonstrated the growing awareness and trust the public has in the government’s efforts to safeguard their health. He reaffirmed that the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf remains committed to implementing measures that promote the well-being and safety of all residents.
Finally, the Commissioner once again thanked the people for following health directives and contributing to a peaceful, healthy, and joyful Sallah celebration. He also urged the public to continue observing hygiene and preventive practices at all times.
