The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring transparency, fairness, and professionalism in land administration while promoting secure and lawful land ownership across the state.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf stated this during the second day of the distribution of Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-Os) to APC Polling Unit Agents drawn from the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf represented by state the Commissioner for Monitoring and Evaluation, Alhaji Nura Iro Ma’aji, described the initiative as one of the key promises made by his administration during the electioneering campaign.

He explained that the programme is designed to enable citizens to acquire land through legitimate processes, strengthen urban planning, and support sustainable development across different parts of Kano State.

“We are fully aware of your commitment and dedication for the success of present administration during the election”. Governor Abba said.

“I see your sacrifice and your loyalty. That is why your welfare is very important,” He added.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf pointed out that, the government is belong to any citizens of the state, that is why providing Qualitative education, access to good Health and infrastructural development to every people is the major priority.

Speaking earlier, the state Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar, said the initiative would expand access to land ownership, help address the housing deficit, and curb illegal land grabbing and unauthorized land sales.

Alhaji Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar noted that the allocated plots are located in newly planned layouts equipped with modern infrastructure, including wide road networks, drainage systems, schools, healthcare facilities, markets, mosques, recreational centres, security facilities, and other essential public amenities. He also advised beneficiaries to regard the plots as long-term family investments rather than selling them for immediate financial gain.

According to the commissioner, the second batch of the beneficiaries is 1500 Poling unit agent from the 44 local Government Areas of the state.

Some of the beneficiaries Salisu Sarkin yaki representing Kano Central, Ja’e Na Almu representing Kano South and Doris Aminu from Kano North Expressed their appreciation to the Governor for the gesture.

Other Goodwill massages during the event came from the Representatives of state APC Chairman Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa and representative of state ALGON Chairperson Hajiya Sa’adatu Yusha’u in the person of Alhaji Jamilu Dambatta the Executive Chairman of Dambatta local Government.
