The Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in collaboration with the Aminu Magashi Garba (AMG) Foundation, organized a one-day technical workshop on the draft framework for the proposed Kano State Humanitarian Intervention Trust Fund.

Declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, emphasized the significance of the Trust Fund in strengthening humanitarian services across the state. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Humanitarian Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for establishing the Ministry, which has been a game-changer in the lives of vulnerable groups and the less privileged in society.

In a statement signed by Director public enlightenment state ministry for Humanitarian and poverty Alleviation Halima Sani Gadanya Alhaji Adamu Kibiya commended the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation for its unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes. He also seized the opportunity to appeal to Non-Governmental Organizations, Philanthropists, and Private Organizations to support the Ministry in its quest to provide succor to those in need.

In his remarks, the Technical Adviser to the ministry and Chairman of the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, provided an overview of the proposed framework. He explained that the funds, once operational, will significantly boost humanitarian interventions and help curb social challenges.

 

Dr. Garba emphasized that the Trust Fund will serve as a catalyst for sustainable development, bridging the gap between the Government and the vulnerable populations. He assured that the foundation will continue to support the ministry in ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective implementation of the Trust Fund.
