Kano state government has reassured its readiness to take all necessary action on any health worker found guilty of the diversion of Health commodities.
The state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced this at the flag off of the distribution of health intervention commodities in the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf represented by the state deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo expressed Kano state government commitment in providing all the necessary health commodities to its health facilities for the benefit of the people in the state.
According to the governor, all the commodities that have lunched for seven categories of diseases will be given Free to the patients, warned all health workers to fear God, ensure profer utilisation.
Speaking earlier, state Commissioner for health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf highlighted seven areas that kano state government intervened free health commodities that includes, Dental Chairs, school health services, free eye spectacles, Abba gida -gida free sickle cell Drugs, Abba gida -gida free Diabetec screening program and Abba gida -gida free maternal pack
Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf further said the intervention in this areas is in line with Kano state government policy in the health sector especially to the volnerable people.
The commissioner also mentioned some of the achievements in the two years by the present administration.
” We have seen renovation of secondary health facilities, renovation and fully conversation of 260 health facilities across the state.” Dr Labaran added
According to the commissioner, the Routine immunization has recorded success by the present administration.
“Routine immunization is very essential, everyday women are delivering in Kano state, in our health facilities alone we are receiving between 5000 to 6000 in a month that’s why Kano state government taken serious attention in day-to-day routine immunization across the state, at this juncture we are commending government in providing enough counter fund for that.” The commissioner said
In his speech, the Emir of Kano Malam Muhammad Sunusi II through Mai Unguwar Mundubawa District Head of Gezawa Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Yusuf expressed the Kano Emirate for the successful implementation of government policies especially in the health sector.
In her good will massage, the Chairperson State branch of the Association of all local government of Nigeria (ALGON) Hajiya Sa’adatu Yusuf soja commended Kano state government in providing all the necessary support to the health sector.
“We at the local government level we will give our contributions and support to primary healthcare.” ALGON Chairperson said.
