The Executive Secretary of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda has announced the appointment of Dr. Hasiya Tijjani Ismail, a renowned Consultant Neurologist, as the substantive Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Waziri Shehu Gidado General Hospital.
Dr. Hasiya Tijjani Ismail brings to this role an impressive track record of service and professionalism. Prior to her appointment, she served as a Senior Lecturer in thte Department of Internal Medicine at Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital.
In a statement signed by public relations officer state Hospitals Management Board Samira Sulaiman said Dr Hasiya Tijjani Isma’il also held the position of Director, Claims Management Department at the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA).
Her broad expertise in both clinical medicine and health systems management uniquely qualifies her to steer the hospital towards excellence In patient care and operational in efficiency.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nagoda also takes this opportunity to pay glowing tribute to Professor Muhammad Abbas, who served diligently as the Sole Administrator of the hospital. Under his leadership, Waziri Shehu Gidado General Hospital underwent a remarkable transformation revitalization, restoring public confidence, and enhancing clinical services.
“His legacy of commitment and integrity will continue to inspire the next phase of the hospital’s development,” Dr. Nagoda added.
“As Dr. Hasiya Tijjani Ismail assumes her new duties, the Board is confident in her ability to build on these gains and further elevate the hospital as a center of excellence in healthcare delivery across Kano State,” ES said.
The full handover of responsibilities is expected to take place on or before Friday, 13th June 2025.
