Kano state ministry for health has joined its counterpart from the state of the Federation in attending the national council of health meeting taking place in Calabar the state capital of cross River.

The state commissioner for health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf who led the state delegation reaffirmed the Kano state government commitment in the improving the healthcare delivery across the state.

The annual Council on Health serves as the highest policy-making body in Nigeria’s health sector, bringing together Federal and State stakeholders, development partners, and key technical experts to review progress, address emerging challenges, and adopt resolutions that guide the nation’s health agenda.

During the meeting, participants deliberated on critical issues affecting the health system, including strengthening primary healthcare delivery, improving disease surveillance, enhancing health financing mechanisms, and advancing strategies for universal health coverage.

Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf also reassured Kano State’s commitment to implementing evidence-based policies and contributing actively to national efforts aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the 44 local government areas in the state.
