Kano state Hospital management Board has reiterated its commitment to ensure profer monitoring the staff and Health Facilitates for a better healthcare delivery in the state.
The Executive secretary of the Board Dr Mansur Mudi Nagoda stated this during the 2025 end -of- year Get Together, award Presentation and symbolic distribution of free maternal, accident and emergency commodities at the Board Headquarters.
He said, the event shows a strong testament to the Board’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery across Kano State.
“On behalf of the Management and Staff of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board, I extend our heartfelt appreciation to our distinguished guests, stakeholders, partners, healthcare professionals, and members of the media who have found time to honour this important occasion,” He said.
According to Dr Mansur Mudi Nagoda this is not just a ceremony; it is a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed resolve.
“As the year draws to a close, we pause to acknowledge the journey we have travelled together one marked by challenges, resilience, reforms, and measurable progress. We are proud of the collective efforts of our medical directors, zonal directors, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health workers, and administrative staff who, day and night, continue to serve humanity with dedication and compassion,” ES added.
The executive secretary pointed out that this gathering also affords board the opportunity to recognize and reward excellence.
“The award presentation segment of today’s programme is our modest way of saying thank you to individuals and institutions whose outstanding performance, innovation, and selfless service have positively impacted healthcare delivery in our facilities. By celebrating excellence, we inspire higher standards, professionalism, and a culture of accountability across the system.”
“Furthermore, the symbolic distribution of Accident and Emergency commodities underscores our unwavering commitment to saving lives and strengthening emergency response services. Timely access to functional A&E equipment and consumables remains critical in reducing preventable deaths, and this initiative reflects our resolve to ensure that state-owned health facilities are better equipped to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies.” Dr. Nagoda emphasized.
Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda highlights some of the achievements so far achieved in the last three years which includes:
Reinstatement of 926 staff back to the state payroll on full CONHESS allowance Restoring and justice. Employment of 250 Doctors, 153 community Health workers CHEWs/ Nurses and Midwives addressing critical manpower shortage. Implementation of capacity building programmes across the cadres of health workers to strengthen professional compliance as well as the ongoing screening of clinical Staff for permanent and pensionable appointment for ensuring work force stability.
The executive secretary expressed his appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his visionary leadership, consistent support, and people-centred approach to governance particularly in the health sector.
Speaking earlier, the state commissioner for health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf commended the Board for organizing the event every year with aim to encourage its staff.
“This award will serve as encouragement. At this juncture I want to call on All the staff of the board to redoubtable their effort for service delivery,” The commissioner said.
Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf also congratulated the awardees, urged them to keep up what they are doing.
Mean while the commissioner also flag off the monthly distribution of free maternal and accident and emergency commodities to all state health facilities for the month of December which is the last in the series of the distribution for the year 2025.
In their separate goodwill massages, the Director General state primary healthcare management Board Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim and his counterpart of State Drugs medical supply Agency Pharmacist Ghali Sule commended the Board for organizing the event, assured their support and cooperation for the development of healthcare delivery in the state.
Among those that received the award for excellent are Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, state commissioner for health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, state Head of service Malam Abdullahi Musa, Executive secretary state Hospital management Board Dr Mansur Mudi Nagoda and his counterpart of state health trust fund Dr Fatima Zahraddin, Chief medical Director Murtala Muhammad Special Hospital Dr Husain Muhammad as well as dedicated Staff from the board and its Zones.
