‎The Kano State Ministry of Land and Physical Planning has launched a sectional titling registration sensitization campaign at the Phone Marketers, Repairs and Technicians Association, Farm Center.

‎The State Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar, speaking during the sensitization event, highlighted the importance and benefits of the policy, stating that it is poised to boost socio-economic activities of the market and the state in general.

‎Represented by Hajiya Safiya Bala Muhammad, Director of Sectional Titling, Alhaji Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar explained that sectional titling registration was initiated to safeguard properties and to establish a comprehensive database of all properties within the market and beyond.

In a statement signed by Director public E‎nlightnment state ministry for Land and Physical planning Murtala Shehu Umar said Hajiya Safiya Bala Muhammad further noted that upon registration, property owners will be issued a Certificate of Occupancy (CofO), enabling easy access to loans from banks or individuals and facilitating participation in State and Federal Government financial intervention programmes.

‎The requirements for Sectional Titling Registration as highlighted by Hajiya Safiya Bala Muhammad include: Written Application, Ownership document, Sectional plan, Scheme plan, Unit plan, Building plan approval, Drawings, Application form, and Means of identification.

‎Ambassador Jamilu Bala Gama, Chairman of Phone Marketers Repairs and Technicians Association Farm Center, commended the foresight of Commissioner Alhaji Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar for introducing the policy, stating it will reduce property disputes and land racketeering.

‎He noted that Farm Center Market comprises 25 plazas, with only 4 owned by individuals, underscoring the need for property registration. Ambassador Gama promised to conduct a special awareness campaign on the initiative, anticipating significant participation.

‎He appreciated the sensitization team for engaging market leadership initially, facilitating acceptance and enabling identification of rightful property owners.
