Kano State Roads Traffic Agency, KAROTA has begun the screenings of its staff with a view to fishing out ghost workers from its workforce.

 

The Managing Director of the Agency, Hon Faisal Mahmud Kabir disclosed shortly after opening the verification exercise holding at KAROTA headquarters on club road in Kano Metropolis.

 

The KAROTA MD pointed out that having taken a long time without conducting such a screening exercise, the Karota management deems it fit to know the exact number of staff in its workforce.

 

He expressed optimism that after the staff verification Kano State Governor, Alh Abba Kabir Yusuf would approve for further training and provision of modern facilities to the KAROTA personnel to cope with modernity in their operations.

 

In his comment, the Chairman of the Verification Committee also Deputy Managing Director of KAROTA, Alh Auwalu Lawan Shu’aibu Aranposu said so far over five hundred staff were screened on the first day of the exercise and commended KAROTA personnel for their cooperation and orderly conduct during the exercise.

 

The DMD remarked that, the exercise which is being conducted in batches would last throughout the week.

 

Alh Auwalu Shu’aibu Aranposu explained the screening would pave the way for a renewed and vibrant Karota that would stand the taste of time.
