Kano Municipal Council Chairman Alhaji Salim Hashim Gwangwazo has extended warm felicitations to the entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Islamic New Islamic Year 1447 After Hijra.
In a goodwill message releases Alhaji Salim Hashim Gwangwazo described the first day of Muharram as a significant moment in the Islamic world, one that serves as a reminder of the lessons from the Hijrah (migration) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah. He said the event embodies messages of faith, perseverance, and sacrifices.
The Kano Municipal Council Chairman urged Muslims to use the occasion to strengthen compassion, empathy, and mutual support within the community while reaffirming their commitment to peace and unity.

“We all have a role to play in building a just society and ensuring lasting peace, in line with the teachings of Islam,” Salim Hashim added
The chairman also send the congratulation massages to NNPP national leader Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Emir of Kano Khalifa Muhammad Sunusi II and the entire Kano Municipal people For witnessing the New Islamic Year.
Alhaji Salim Hashim Gwangwazo also offered prayers for blessings, peace, and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria at large, expressing hope that the new Islamic year will usher in stability, progress, and greater unity.
