Kano state Government has advised all the security agencies to work closely with the newly established Neighbourhood Watch corps, when it comes on-board.

The state commissioner for internal security and special services, retired air vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar gave the advise while declaring open a one day sensitisation workshop tagged “understanding Kano state Neighbourhood Watch corps law 2025, organised by the ministry and held at the premises of the Nigerian Bar Association office along Guda Abdullahi road within farm centre.

In a statement signed by Director public enlightenment state ministry for internal Security and special services the commissioner applauded those initiated the law that established the vigilante groups, hence the need to review the law to suit the current security challenges.

The commissioner revealed that when the corps takes full affect,it would replace all the operational activities of the Vigilante groups in the state.

In his well come address,the permanent secretary ministry of internal affairs ,Alh Dan’asabe Yahya said the aim of the workshop is to sensitize various stakeholders on the legal framework establishing the corps in the state.

The permanent secretary then commended the state governor for his initiative and the green horizon institute who took the responsibility of reviewing the Law.
A renowned Legal practitioners Professor Tabi’u Muhd,and Bar Ali Musa presented Peppers during the workshop.
