Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency KSCHMA Reaffirms Commitment to Expanding Healthcare Scheme at the 55th Weekly Joint Directorate Meeting.
The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) participated in the 55th Weekly Joint Directorate Meeting convened by the Kano State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa. The meeting, attended by the Permanent Secretaries of the Office of the Head of Service and key directors from various government agencies, provided an opportunity for KSCHMA to highlight its commitment to expanding healthcare coverage and improving service quality across the state.
During the meeting, the Executive Secretary Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the agency’s ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare access for Kano State residents. She emphasized the agency’s strategic initiatives aimed at increasing enrolment, strengthening healthcare infrastructure, and ensuring quality service delivery.
Dr. Muktar noted that KSCHMA is working diligently to expand the scheme by engaging with public and private healthcare providers, integrating vulnerable groups, and raising public awareness about the benefits of contributory healthcare. She also highlighted key quality improvement measures, including capacity-building programs for healthcare professionals, the enhancement of monitoring and evaluation systems, and investment in modern healthcare technologies.
The presentation was well received by attendees, with the Kano Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, commending KSCHMA’s efforts and reaffirming the government’s support for the agency’s mission. Discussions during the meeting centred on strengthening inter-agency collaboration, improving public engagement strategies, and exploring innovative funding mechanisms to sustain the scheme’s growth.
KSCHMA remains committed to achieving universal health coverage in Kano State and will continue to implement policies that enhance accessibility, affordability, and efficiency in healthcare services.
