The Director General, Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB), Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim undertook a supportive supervision visit to Sharada Primary Health Centre in Kano Municipal LGA, accompanied by the Primary Health Care Coordinator (PHCC), Alhaji Lawan Jaafar. The visit forms part of sustained efforts to reinforce accountability, efficiency, and quality in primary healthcare service delivery across Kano State.

In a statement signed by public relations officer KSPHMB Sa’adatu Sulaiman said during the inspection, the DG assessed critical service delivery points including the Antenatal Care, Maternity, Routine Immunization, Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Growth Monitoring units. He commended the facility’s leadership and staff for their discipline, punctuality, and professional appearance, while acknowledging the commendable standard of care being provided to patients.

Notwithstanding the progress observed, Professor Ibrahim identified key operational gaps requiring immediate attention, notably deficiencies in data generation within the Antenatal Care unit, inadequate seating facilities for clients, and stock-outs of essential commodities such as deworming tablets, Vitamin A, and multiple micronutrient supplements for pregnant women. He further directed the facility to ensure the provision of sustainable 24-hour solar-powered electricity to enhance patient comfort and optimize service delivery.

Engaging directly with clients, particularly pregnant women attending antenatal services, the Director General reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Executive Governor of Kano State to improving maternal and child health outcomes through the provision of free, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services. In his remarks, the PHCC, Alhaji Lawan Jafar, expressed appreciation for the impactful supervision, describing it as instrumental to the ongoing transformation of primary healthcare services in the state.
