The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) has successfully concluded a two-day Law Review and Operational Guidelines Validation Workshop held from 4th–5th March 2026 at Bizarre Luxury Apartment. The workshop brought together key stakeholders to review and validate the Board’s legal framework and operational guidelines aimed at strengthening the governance and effective delivery of primary healthcare services across Kano State.
In his remarks, the Director General of KSPHCMB, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, emphasized that the review of the Board’s law and operational guidelines is a strategic step toward institutional strengthening and improved service delivery. He noted that the validation exercise demonstrates the Board’s commitment to aligning its operational processes with best practices in primary healthcare management to ensure quality, accessible, and sustainable healthcare services for the people of Kano State.
In a statement signed by public relations officer KSPHMB Sa’adatu Sulaiman said speaking at the workshop, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, commended the initiative and reiterated the Kano State Government’s commitment to strengthening the primary healthcare system through strong policies and effective regulatory frameworks that support improved health outcomes for citizens.
At the end of the workshop, participants agreed on key action points and timelines to ensure the timely completion of the review process. Stakeholders will submit a clean copy of all comments and observations to the consultants by 8th March 2026, after which the consultants will clean and harmonize the documents by 9th March 2026. The finalized documents will subsequently be submitted to the FCDO Lafiya Programme on 10th March 2026, marking the next critical step toward the formal adoption and implementation of the reviewed law and operational guidelines.
