Kwara State Government says it would collaborate with professionals in the execution of public projects to ensure quality and accountability.

The General Manager of the Kwara State Public Procurement Agency, (PPA), QS Raheem Abdulbaki, made stated this during a stakeholders’ meeting with professional ministries held in Ilorin.

He emphasized that professionals must rise to their responsibilities and act as watchdogs over government contracts.adding that each project reflects the highest standards of professionalism.

“Professionals need to wake up to their duties by ensuring that they monitor all government contracts towards ensuring that they are professionally done,” he

Abdulbaki said the government would not continue to condone the ineptitude which the State has suffered due to lapses in the project execution chain.

He explained that every project must have experienced professionals supervising the components that involve them, so that excellence becomes the order of the day.”

The General Manager charged all professional ministries to ensure no project with professional components proceeds without adequate input from the relevant experts.

For his part , on behalf of other stakeholders,the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Mr. Olaitan Afolabi, called for a holistic overhaul of project monitoring mechanisms to achieve better, results-driven outcomes.

He assured the Agency of the Ministry’s full commitment to fostering inter-agency collaborations, which is urgently needed at this time.
