The newly appointed commissioner for internal security and special services, retired air vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar has Called for a collaboration with all security agencies toward tackling insecurity challenges in the state.
The commissioner made the remark while speaking to press shortly after he assumed duty at the ministry headquarters along Maiduguri road.
In a statement signed by Director public enlightenment state ministry for internal Security Muhammad Dahiru Idris Elba said retired Air Vice Marshal, maintained that though security issue is not new to him, but emphasized the need for more hands to be deck for better result.
“We will deepen collaboration with Traditional rulers, Religious leaders, Security agencies, Community stakeholders, and Civil society in building resilient local security structures” the commissioner added.
The commissioner who noted how sensitive the task before him,adding that security is the foundation of all progress,and pledged to work with integrity and diligence to safeguard the lives and property of the general public.
He then commended the Executive Governor of Kano state Abba Kabiru Yusuf for finding him worthy to ascend the position of commissioner and member of the state executive Council, while pleadging to remain committed to promoting justice,equity, discipline and the upliftment of common man.
Earlier,welcoming the commissioner on behalf of the management of the ministry, the permanent Secretary,Alh Dan’asabe Yahya pledged the continued unwavering support to the commissioner to enable him discharge his mandate.
Alh, Dan’asabe pray for Allah guidance to the new commissioner to make a huge success.
Also commenting,an NNPP, stalwart in Dala local government, Alhaji Kabiru Falaki, describes the appointment of retired AVM Ibrahim Umar as well deserved, considering his status as versatile military officer who served the nation meritoriously for good 35 yrs, and called on the staffers of the ministry to tirelessly give their support for tremendous success.
The commissioner who arrived at the premises of the ministry flanked by hundreds of NNPP supporters chanting different political slogans praising the commissioner for his sense of humility and concern to the less privileged ones.
