On 25th May, 2026.The personnel of Nigeria Immigration Service Jigawa State Command during a swoop operation, intercepted nine (9) suspected victims of trafficking in persons at Kofar Yamma, Babura Town, Babura LGA Jigawa State.
The victims were attempted to cross into the Niger Republic for onward journeys to Europe. All the victims females from different states which includes Lagos, Cross River, Enugu, and Ekiti States, whose ages between 17 and 40 years only.

The victims were subsequently handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further interview, profiling, and reunification with their families on 2nd June,2026.
Nigeria Immigration Service Jigawa State Command, using this medium to appeal to all parents, guidances to watch over their children/wards from being decieved by those who make burgoos deceit to young kids of better life abroad,not minding the harsh consequences of going through the illegal routes with dangers of crossing Sahara and Mediterranean sea.
