Over One Hundred People benefits From Free Eye Check-up in Kano Municipal LGA

The local government council chairman Alhaji Salim Hashim Idris Gwangwazo has launched a free eye care program for individuals suffering from glaucoma, trachoma, cataracts, and other vision problems in the area.

The Municipal zonal Information officer, Abdullahi Musa Gyadi Gyadi reported that, the program was among the initiatives of State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf through state primary healthcare management board, local government council chairman Alhaji Salim Hashim Idris Gwangwazo as well as International donors aimed at improving eye health care through examinations, provision of medication, and distributions of free eye glasses especially to the less privileged ones in the area and state at large.

The Chairman who represented by the local government supervisory councilor health, Alhaji Mustapha Darma enjoined the people of the area to continue complementing with effort of the Kano state government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in collaboration with local government, towards the provision of quality healthcare services to public particularly in tackling vision-related illnesses.

He added that, it was recently, the state government sponsored the free eye treatments to five hundred people of the area and other local governments across the state.

In a statement signed by Municipal Zonal information officer Abdullahi Musa Gyadi-Gyadi said the local government Primary Healthcare co-ordinator, Alhaji Lawan Jafar said after checking out the patients, those with less cases would be given advises, medicine, eye glasses or both and those with serious cases are to be sponsor for surgery.

Alhaji Lawan Jafar, then commended local government health workers and the team of doctors for the success of the program.

Malam Shafi’u Wada Imam Yakasai and Abubakar Isah Jahun were among the beneficiaries express their happiness to the state and Municipal local governments for their usual support especially on healthcare delivery and assured continue praying for the success of the present state administration under Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the area council chairman, Alhaji Salim Hashim Idris Gwangwazo.

Doctor Kamal Saleh led the team of those who conducted the program that recorded a huge success.
