The General Manager of the station, Dr. Garba Ubale Danbatta, made the pledge when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Commandant of the NSCDC as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between Pyramid Radio and the command.
Dr. Danbatta said since Pyramid FM is a federal government-owned station, it is duty-bound to support all initiatives aimed at improving security in Kano State.
He disclosed that the station will provide regular airtime for the NSCDC to enlighten residents on security issues and promote peaceful coexistence in the state.
“We have set aside a 30-minute weekly programme for your Command to sensitize the public on your activities and efforts towards tackling security challenges across Kano State,” Dr. Danbatta said.
He further commended the Commandant for his dedication and commitment to improving security in the state, noting that both institutions share the same vision of contributing to the development of Kano.
In his response, the NSCDC Commandant in Kano State, Bala Bawa Bodinga, assured that the Corps would work hand in hand with Pyramid FM to raise public awareness on security matters.
“As security operatives, it is our duty to collaborate with media organizations like yours to enlighten the public on how to avoid criminal acts. We consider you our partners in progress, and together, we will continue to contribute to the peace and development of Kano State,” he said.
Commandant Bodinga added that the media plays a vital role in crime prevention and in promoting peace and security across Nigeria.
