The Rector of Husaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Engr. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Danzomo, has assured that students of the institution will be competent and excel in any university or higher institution they attend, attributing the feat to the institution’s commitment to quality teaching and learning.
Danzomo stated this while speaking on the achievements and development of the Polytechnic, stressing that the institution remained committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to compete favourably anywhere in the country.
He said the Polytechnic has six schools and departments offering various courses, with academic activities conducted by experienced and highly qualified lecturers who have undergone specialised training.
According to him, the quality of teaching staff and continuous efforts to improve the learning environment have contributed significantly to the standard of education at the institution.
The Rector urged newly admitted students to take their studies seriously and work hard to become useful and successful members of society.
“Since I assumed the position of Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, I have received the cooperation of other members of staff in identifying the various challenges affecting the institution and addressing them within a short period. This is among the major achievements we have recorded towards the development of the Polytechnic,” he said.
Danzomo said the institution had also commenced the recruitment of additional staff, particularly in the security department, while renovation works were being carried out in various parts of the Polytechnic.
He added that adequate drinking water had been provided for students’ hostels, while the institution’s environment had been cleaned and improved to provide a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
The Rector commended prominent individuals who had contributed to the development of the Polytechnic, particularly the Senator representing Jigawa North-West Senatorial District, Senator Babangida Husaini, Walin Kazaure, for constructing a significant section of the institution and equipping it with necessary facilities.
He also commended the chairmen of Kazaure, Roni, Gwiwa and Yankwashi local government areas for sponsoring students from their respective communities to study at the Polytechnic.
Danzomo described the gesture as a significant contribution to the educational development of the area and urged other individuals and organisations to emulate the initiative.
He further appealed to wealthy members of the public to continue supporting young people to acquire education, saying such interventions would help address youth unemployment and reduce security challenges in society.
