According to the Director, of China Cultural Center, Yang Jinxing, the event aims to strengthen the cultural and diplomatic exchange between China and Nigeria.
Pingtan is a combination of “pinghua”(storytelling) and “tanci”(singing storytelling with instruments).
It is popular in the Yangtze River Delta, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, and is deeply loved by local people.
The instruments are mostly the Sanxian and Pipa, adding rich tone colour to performance.
The Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Dr. Muhammad Bulama is represented by the Director of Programmes Department, Mrs. Msurshima Kghir at the event.
