The Director General of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB), Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, has conducted a supervision visit to the Kano State Cold Chain Equipment (CCE) Decommissioning Holding Point at the State Store on Club Road, Kano, as part of sustained efforts to strengthen cold chain management and ensure compliance with approved decommissioning standards.

In a statement signed by public relations officer state primary healthcare management Board Sa’adatu Sulaiman said the visit was aimed at assessing the status of decommissioned cold chain equipment, verifying adherence to established guidelines, and ensuring that all processes align with national and partner-supported standards. The DG inspected the holding facilities and reviewed inventory records to confirm accuracy, accountability, and proper documentation of all decommissioned assets.

Professor Ibrahim also engaged with officers on duty to gain firsthand insight into operational procedures, challenges encountered, and progress achieved so far. He emphasized the importance of proper handling, environmental safety, and efficient record-keeping, noting that effective cold chain equipment management is critical to sustaining immunization services and broader primary healthcare delivery across the state.

The Director General commended the Floating Assembly Team for their commitment and professionalism, while providing observations and directives aimed at further improving efficiency, accountability, and readiness for subsequent stages of the decommissioning process. The visit reaffirms KSPHCMB’s commitment to effective supervision, transparency, and continuous improvement in strengthening primary healthcare service delivery in Kano State.
