The Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency has been honored with the Award of Excellence in recognition of its outstanding performance in pharmaceutical supply chain management, transparency, and service delivery.
Accepting the award, Pharm. Gali Sule, the Director-General of DMCSA observed that the presentation of the award is recognition of the agency’s exemplary service in ensuring effective drug supply chain management, promoting access to quality medicines, and advancing pharmaceutical governance in Kano State and beyond.

“We are deeply honored to receive this Award of Excellence from Maydon Pharmaceuticals Ltd,” the Director-General, who was represented by Pharm. Tukur Ibrahim, the Director Drugs and Supply, said. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire team. It motivates us to continue striving for excellence in ensuring that safe and effective medicines reach every health facility and patient in need.”
He assured the state residents of continued service delivery: “We remain committed to our mission of ensuring that every citizen has access to safe, effective, and affordable medicines. This recognition motivates us to continue raising the bar in pharmaceutical management and public health.”
The DG further noted that the drug availability at the state-owned healthcare facilities has risen from a mere 30 percent to 97 percent, courtesy in part of establishing and maintaining good working relationships with pharmaceutical companies.

In a statement signed by public relations officer DMSCA Faruk Isa Musa Pharmasit Ghali Sule pledged that the agency will remain committed to advancing innovation, sustainability, and accountability in drug management, contributing significantly to public health outcomes.
Presenting the award on behalf of the company, Umeano Francis, an Area Sales Manager at Maydon Pharmaceuticals Ltd., said the Kano DMCSA was selected for its outstanding achievements in optimizing procurement processes, improving transparency and accountability, and strengthening healthcare delivery through efficient drug distribution systems.
The prestigious award celebrates the agency’s dedication to ensuring the availability, affordability, and quality of essential medicines across the region. The award not only highlights the agency’s accomplishments but also positions it as a model for best practices in the sector. It reinforces the critical role of efficient drug management systems in achieving universal health coverage and sustainable health outcomes.
