The Kano state Commissioner for Health,

Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, has been recognized for his outstanding commitment to the health sector, received a Certificate of Good Performance in the health sector.

The state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf presented the certificate during the closing ceremony of a five day retreat organized for Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), along with other political appointees, in Kaduna.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf thanks the participants for their dedication throughout the retreat.

In a statement signed by public relations officer state ministry for health Nabulisi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa said the the Retreat organized with aimed at enhancing governance, leadership skills, and service delivery across all sectors of the state.

Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf was among the Commissioners that received certificates from the Governor at the event.

 

This symbolic gesture reflects the administration’s commitment to equipping its officials with the knowledge and capacity needed to deliver on their mandates.

 

The retreat featured intensive sessions on leadership development, accountability, strategic planning, and teamwork. It also provided a platform for appointees to exchange ideas, share experiences, and align with the Governor’s vision of building a more inclusive, transparent, and people-centered government.

 

In his remarks the state Commissioner for health reaffirmed his determination to strengthen Kano’s healthcare system.

 

He emphasized that the recognition would further inspire him and his team to provide quality, affordable, and accessible health services to all residents of the state.

Under Dr. Yusuf’s leadership, the Ministry of Health has continued to implement reforms and strategic initiatives that place Primary Health Care at the forefront, while also expanding access to hospital services and preventive health programs. The recognition at the retreat underscores the administration’s broader commitment to accountability, excellence, and capacity building among its leaders.
