The management of Audu Bako College of Agriculture, located in Dambatta Local Government Area, has strongly denied allegations that it disobeyed directives from the Kano State Government.

Addressing journalists during a press briefing at his office, the Provost of the College, Professor Muhammad Audu Wailare, refuted claims made by the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Northwest Zone, Dr. Abdulaziz Badaru. He accused Dr. Badaru of spreading misinformation and attempting to tarnish the institution’s reputation.

The controversy centers around the suspension of a lecturer, Malam Ahmad, who was reportedly involved in the physical assault of a fellow staff member in a public setting. Professor Wailare explained that the disciplinary measures taken against the lecturer were in line with institutional and civil service procedures, and were carried out in collaboration with the Kano State Civil Service Commission.

He dismissed Dr. Badaru’s claims that the College had ignored government directives, stating that such assertions were baseless and misleading.

“In all my years as the Provost, no administration has shown greater commitment and support to the Audu Bako College of Agriculture than the current government led by His Excellency, Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf,” Wailare said.

He further commended Governor Yusuf for his dedication to enhancing the education sector in the state, urging the public and media to disregard any attempt to undermine the progress made under the current administration.

The Provost reaffirmed the College’s commitment to upholding discipline, transparency, and adherence to due process in all its operations.
