The Head of Civil Service of Kano State, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, has, on behalf of the State Governor, officially declared open the third round of a three-day capacity building workshop on transformational leadership and anti-corruption in the workplace for secondary school principals across the state.

Declaring the workshop open, Maimota said the initiative was designed to strengthen integrity, transparency and accountability within the education sector. She noted that the training would equip participants with the requisite knowledge, tools and guidance to uphold ethical standards, promote truth and strictly adhere to rules and regulations in the discharge of their duties.

The Head of Service stressed the need for discipline and ethical conduct in school administration, pointing out that principals play a pivotal role in shaping the moral standards of students as well as ensuring effective service delivery in the education system.

She further urged participants to take full advantage of the workshop by internalising the principles of transformational leadership and embracing anti-corruption practices in their respective schools.

Dignitaries present at the opening ceremony included the Executive Secretary, Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board, Hon. Rabiu Sale Gwarzo; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education; alongside directors and other key stakeholders in the education sector.

The workshop is expected to boost the capacity of school leaders in promoting accountability and entrenching a culture of transparency in secondary schools across Kano State.
