The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has been honoured by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) with the Award for Best Administrative Efficiency in recognition of its outstanding performance during the 2026 Hajj operations.
The award was presented to the Board under the leadership of its Director General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, during the Post-2026 Hajj Review Summit, held yesterday at the Conference Hall of the Hajj House in Abuja.
Speaking during the presentation, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Isma’il Abba Yusuf, said the Board was selected for the prestigious award because of its exemplary administrative approach, effective coordination, and unwavering commitment to ensuring the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
He noted that the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board demonstrated exceptional leadership and operational efficiency throughout the pilgrimage, setting a commendable standard for Hajj administration in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by public relations officer state pilgrims welfare Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi said Receiving the award, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, expressed his appreciation to NAHCON for the recognition.
Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle, dedicated the award to the Government and people of Kano State, as well as the Board’s management and staff, whose dedication, commitment, and teamwork contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to sustaining high standards of service delivery and implementing initiatives that will continue to enhance the welfare, comfort, and overall satisfaction of Kano State pilgrims in future Hajj exercises.
