The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) has approved the recruitment of a new set of temporary staff at Hotoro North Primary Health Care Centre in Nassarawa Local Government Area.

This development follows the disengagement of some temporary staff at the facility after they were found wanting in the discharge of their duties. In line with the Board’s commitment to ensuring quality service delivery across all Primary Health Centres, the Director General, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, directed the immediate employment of competent replacements.

In a statement signed by public relations officer state primary healthcare management Board Sa’adatu Sulaiman said the newly engaged temporary staff cut across essential cadres, including Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs), Midwives, Laboratory Technicians, Nutrition Assistants, and Environmental Health Assistants. Their deployment is aimed at strengthening service delivery and sustaining public confidence in the facility.

Speaking through the Department of Medical Services, under the leadership of Director Aisha Abdulkadir Makkatu, the DG charged the new appointees to uphold professionalism, discipline, and dedication in the discharge of their responsibilities. He emphasized that health facilities under the Board must remain centres of trust and excellence where clients receive timely, free, and quality services.

The DG further noted that the recruitment exercise reflects the Board’s zero tolerance for misconduct and its readiness to take swift corrective action where necessary to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the people of Kano State.

The Board assures the public of its unwavering commitment to improving primary healthcare services across all 44 LGAs of the state.
