The National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), His Excellency Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, FNSE, on Friday, October 17, 2025, held a closed-door meeting with former Head of State and elder statesman, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), at his residence in Minna, Niger State.
Sen. Kwankwaso was accompanied by the NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Ahmed Ajuji. The meeting, which lasted for some hours, was said to be cordial and held in a friendly atmosphere.
Although the details of their discussions were not made public, reliable sources disclosed that the deliberations focused on national unity, peace, and the current political and economic situation of the country.
General Babangida, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s respected elder statesmen, warmly received the NNPP delegation, commending their efforts toward promoting dialogue and stability in the nation’s democratic process.

The visit is seen as part of ongoing consultations by Sen. Kwankwaso with key national figures across the country, aimed at fostering collaboration and strengthening democratic governance.
The NNPP leader and his entourage departed Minna later in the day after what was described as a fruitful engagement.
