The management of Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM, kano, has pledged to collaborate with the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency (KASITDA) to promote technological development for the benefit of residents.

The General Manager of Pyramid Radio, Dr. Garba Ubale Danbatta, made this known during a courtesy visit.

Dr. Danbatta said with the world increasingly driven by ICT, there is a need for both the radio station and the agency to join forces in sensitising the people of Kano on the importance of digital technology.

He praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for establishing the agency, describing it as a visionary move that would empower youths with ICT knowledge to improve their livelihoods.

According to him, Pyramid FM will give full support to the agency’s initiatives, particularly in raising awareness among youths to embrace technology so that they will not be left behind in the digital era.

“We will work hand-in-hand with this agency to educate our people because it is clear that we are still lagging in ICT adoption, which is key to easing daily activities and improving our quality of life,” he said.

He also appealed to the agency to establish a training centre for journalists and staff of the station to enhance their ICT skills, stressing that media practitioners must adopt digital tools to remain relevant.

On his part, the. Director-General of the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency (KASITDA), Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkar, assured that the agency will partner with Pyramid FM in its sensitisation programmes to help people appreciate the value of ICT.

“We are in an era where people must embrace digital technology to improve their work and make life easier, otherwise they risk being left behind, because development is continuous,” Dr. Muzakkar said.

He explained that although the agency is new, it has designed several programmes to reach rural communities with ICT and computer literacy initiatives.

Dr. Muzakkar also disclosed that the agency will soon launch a special programme aimed at tackling mobile phone theft using ICT solutions across the state.

He further promised to work closely with Pyramid FM in creating awareness and publicising the agency’s policies and programmes.
