Society of Nigerian Broadcasters SNB has expressed its readiness to partner with any Government and relevant stakeholders to improve broadcast journalism across the country.

The national president of the society professor Umar Adamu Fate stated this during the induction ceremony for 152 new members sponsored by the Kano state government at the center of excellence Bayero University, Kano.

He said, among the aims and objectives of the society of the Nigerian Broadcasters is ensure all broadcasting organisations follow the ethics of the profession.

“Let me give you an example, Kano state followed Legos state and FCT Abuja in the high ranking in Broadcasting media stations in the country, so there is need to have professionalism in the system.” Prof Fate said.

According to Professor Umar Fate only through training and retraining the broadcasting journalism will improve especially at this Digital era.

The national president of SNB called on all Broadcasters to ensure make them selves prepared before going on air or any presentation on the media.

Prof. Umar Adamu Fate commended the Kano state government in its effort to make broadcasting journalism in the state goes according to its ethics especially sponsored 152 Journalists from different Media Stations both governments own and private in the state to became a registered members of the society of Nigerian Broadcasters which is first of its kind to any Government in Nigeria.

In his goodwill massage, state commissioner for information Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya said the 152 inductees Sponsored by Kano state government were selected from various Media Broadcast station in the state with aim to make Broadcasting Journalism better In the state.

Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya pointed out that, this is part of present administration under governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in strengthen the modern Journalism according to the ethics of the profession.

“This is part of Kano state government commitment in human development for sensitizing the system and encouraging media stations through the ethics of there duties.” Comrade Wayya added

Speaking at the event, the Vice chancellor Bayero University, Kano professor Haruna Musa Dambatta through the Deputy Vice chancellor Academic Professor Adamu Muhammad Tsauni described Broadcasting Journalism as a center of development in various ways.

The vice chancellor further said, Bayero University, Kano is among the best universities in the country, it has the Faculty of Communication that produced that Developing Broadcasting Journalism not only in Nigeria but in the African continent and globally.

In his welcome address the northwest zonal Vice president of Society of Nigerian Broadcasters SNB Alhaji Ado Sa’idu Warawa said the induction ceremony was the second sponsored by the Kano state government in its effort to make state broadcasters the best in practicing Journalism in the country.

Speaking earlier, SNB Kano state coordinator Hajiya A’ishatu Sule thanks all that make the event colourfully.

The induction ceremony for the New Members attended by the Journalism students, academia as well as stakeholders in Broadcasting Journalism.

Shortly after Taking of Oath presentation of membership certificate to the new members followed immediately.
