The SSB Tax and Industry Monitoring engagement is set to take place on May 19-20, 2025, at BON Hotel Kano. This strategic capacity-building initiative aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the media’s vital role in advancing public health policies and provide practical tools for effective advocacy.
The primary objective of this engagement is to facilitate knowledge sharing, enhance advocacy strategies, and empower public health professionals to champion food justice and influence policy changes that support healthy and sustainable food systems in Nigeria.
Through this training, participants will gain valuable insights into:
1. Framing compelling narratives to generate public interest and build sustained support for public health and healthy food policies.
2. Developing effective advocacy strategies to influence policy changes.
3. Building partnerships and collaborations to promote public health and healthy food systems.
The engagement will also focus on the Sugar-Sweetened Beverage (SSB) Tax, its implications, and its potential impact on public health policies in Nigeria.
