During an interview with journalists, the Chairman of Taura Local Government in Jigawa State stated that he is committed to ensuring that the people of the area witness significant development through various projects and by supporting dedicated individuals who contribute to community progress.

Dr. Shua’ibu said his special efforts have shown that local government chairmen are very close to the people, which enables them to directly understand their problems. This has made community-based organizations and influential individuals appreciate such leaders at different levels.

While some heads of higher agencies struggle to address public demands, Hon. Dr. Shua’ibu Ibn Hambali has distinguished himself by providing developmental projects in his area. Within a short period, he has executed many projects within and outside Taura Local Government, such as improving communication systems, repairing damaged roads, and assisting schools. For example, he recently fulfilled a promise to purchase land worth ₦2.5 million for Bakin Dogo Islamic School, which will help enhance children’s education in the area.

According to the chairman, “We must carry out these projects to emulate the Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, who is driving development at the state level.” The state’s achievements in water and road sectors have been impressive, as the government allocated ₦292 million to construct solar-powered water facilities in 19 areas of the state, and ₦81 billion to improve long-distance roads to boost the economy.
